COPTIC PRESENTS THE RISING STARS OF GH MIXTAPE

The Black Star Line championed by hip hop producer Coptic, in an effort to connect back to his roots is gathering the best of the underground from singers to MC’s who will get the platform to show the Hip Hop world how dope they are, on his coming Mixtape - The Rising Stars of GH.

The Black Star Line championed by hip hop producer Coptic, in an effort to connect back to his roots is gathering the best of the underground from singers to MC’s who will get the platform to show the Hip Hop world how dope they are, on his coming Mixtape - The Rising Stars of GH.

The mulch-platinum producer noted -“There is a crop of really good young GH MCs that need exposure and proper production. Since I could not produce every single one of them, I decided on this Mixtape as the perfect solution; because they are the future of GH hip hop.”

In order to break boundaries creatively, several underground artists who are yet to put out albums will get the golden opportunity to lay their bars on one of the beats Coptic is cooking up for the Mixtape, which will be up for free downloads this Christmas.

The first single “Next Up” will be dropping on July 21st, features C-Real, Ian Jazzi and 2Ras. “They should expect nothing but good flows, punch lines and metaphors” C-Real said in an interview with GHstreets.com.

“When you are recording with a local Hip Hop producer, people see it as another song from the little Hip Hop culture of Ghana, but when it’s with Coptic who has worked with the best of the best in the Hip Hop industry abroad, people know and take it serious” 2Ras opined.

“'Next Up' together with the whole project is going to contain a lot of energy, good beats, sick lyrics and tracks that will last forever in your playlists” Ian Jazzi added.

Francis “Banks” Amissah Jnr who coordinates the Mixtape believes “working with a mulch-platinum producer like Coptic will give the artists a greater motivation to work harder and increase the standard of GH music to meet international standard”.

“Next Up” which will be available for free downloads come July 21st sets the tone for several others which will be up for free downloads also because Coptic believes “that most GH music fans don't want to buy music since they are used to getting it for free, so even though I'm against free downloads, I offer all my Mixtapes for free; But that does not include albums; if it's an album, you will have to buy it.”

GHANA MEETS NAIJA ROCKED BUT...

What a difference a year makes. Last year Ghana Meets Naija was all over the media. This year the media headlines will be decidedly more positive.

Empire Entertainment was able assemble a staggeringly star-crammed bill of music A-listers who have dominated Africa such as 4x4, Guru, Lousika, Bino, Sala, Davido, Brymo, MI, Kaakie with the exception of Buk Bak (Bright missed his flight from USA).

2131 new signed artiste, Lousika opened the main stage on Saturday and confirmed that she may be the next hip hop queen irredeemably bland but she sure can sing.

Sala's infectious songs and stage craft charmed the whole audience as she also did her best as she left Bino to stun the audience with her dance moves too.

Julius ‘Genius’ Agwu the Nigerian comedian and KOD steered the affairs of the music concert well.

Kaakie stepped up her game with a sofa placed at the center of the stage as once a while she sat on to dance in.

Chemphe also did his best when he come on stage.

DJ Black was the official DJ for the nite but he had help from DJ Neptune repping Nigeria and DJ Mensa holding it down for Ghana as they also dished out good music for the gathering to dance.

One music act Ghanaians were eager to see was Tiwaa Savage. She proved her well on stage as she scored points for Nigeria. Once a while she interacted with the fans in the pidgin language.

YQ came opened the stage for the Nigerian musicians. Before he left the stage, he invited D-Black to also perform his 'Vera' song.

Brymo's 'Ara' song exploded in the speakers when he was called on stage and your guess will definitely be right that the whole audience was on their feet dancing.

Some performances on the night that deserve mention came from R2Bees.

New act Davido turned the hall into a sea of raised hands with his performance despite the fact that was his first time performing.

Then came the Chocolate City artiste, Mister Incredible aka MI as he churned all his hit songs one by one to the crowd who just loved every little bit of what he did on stage.

4X4 score more points for Ghana when they took their fans back into time with some of their own songs before performing 'Yesi Yesi' and 'Mokoni' which just made the crowd love them more.

Attendants of the show concluded that last year was nicer than this year and they hope it gets better in 2013

RADIO & TELEVISON PERSONALITY AWARDS

Last year, Big Events honored excellence in the radio and television arm of Ghana’s industry. In all, (26) personalities and (8) CEOs were recognized for their contributions towards creating a vibrant media culture in our country. It was dubbed the Radio and Television Personality Awards.

The objective of the premier awards programme was to recognize outstanding media personalities who had shown exemplary leadership towards building a vision of the future which encourages innovativeness and sustainability of media programmes and its presentations.

The demand for quality media programmes in Ghana is expected to grow over the next several years, especially as the population become increasingly more aware of the need for rich content and as the vibrancy on the media industry continues to evolve. This demand will create a parallel demand for knowledgeable and creative media presenters and staff, trained and equipped with the requisite skills. We believe the awards programme would help set the guidelines and capacity building programmes for the Ghanaian media industry to grow.

Big Events’ goal of honoring excellence in the media industry cannot be met without your support. That is the reason we look forward to working together with you in a collaborative effort, committed to the pursuit of excellence in the development of media programmes and its presentation.

AFRICAN DANCEHALL KING DAMAGES STONEBWOY?

Jamaican rag artist DEMARCO is scheduled for the forthcoming Ghana’s Republic Holiday stroke I LOVE MY LIFE concert which will go down on the 1stJuly 2012 inside the Dome of the Accra International Conference center and as matter of fact the event which will be hosted by Ghana and Africa’s dance hall mogul dubbed SAMINI guarantee to be out of the ordinary.

Counting, Efya , Rex Omar, Edem, Eazzy, Asem, Tinny, Kwabena Kwabena not forgetting the recent Dansoman queen diva KAAKIE who is now new to game and with a special top Nigerian artiste joining force with other recognized Musicians in Ghana for the mentioned event on the 1st of july, the question on my side now is: Where Is Samini’s Little Boy? (STONE BWOY), since the show is a Dancehall event, Stone Bwoy needs to appear or else the event is incomplete. Guys look at the artistes on the show’s list very well and figure out which of them fits for the mentioned event. None of them does dancehall or reggae music with the exception of Kaakie and Edem. Are the organizers of the I LOVE MY LIFE concert kidding us? Or let me simply situate: they are absolutely out of knowledge about how they want the event to look like?

And for the sake of those who don’t know who Stony Bwoy is. Stone Bwoy is one of Ghana’s branded and finest fast growing Dancehall artiste right about now in the encampment of Samini (HIGH GRADE FAMILY) formally called BATMAN. Because of stone bwoy, Young people (Youths) and MOST Dancehall fans in Ghana have graduated to a new level of understanding of what DANCEHALL and REGGAE is. Right now, I think someone is sabotaging and I can’t imagine who?

This is actually not the first time Stone Bwoy has been left out of a show’s bill and according to report reaching TheMonteOz: Samini Does That All the Time, thinking if he gives stone Bwoy the possibility, the Dance Hall Killer (Stone Bwoy) will over thrown him. We understand you need to hang on someone to be somebody. But stone bwoy is hanging on the very wrong product though SAMINI is widely known to be a hit man in dancehall music in Ghana and Africa as a whole. Honestly speaking, Samini is a good dancehall musician excluding that I still can’t figure of the kind and the good of a dancehall artiste he is. Kaakie got into the game from nowhere with an unpredictable talent and dancehall flavor, we like and respect that but still STONE BWOY needs to be recognized in HIGH GRADE FAMILY as well. At least try showing some kind of love to the guy (Stone Bwoy) because Ghana needs him as well or is it that Kaakie is a Girl? And girls need to give out what they have to get what they want?  Hmmm!! Don’t Take It Personal.

Recognize stone bwoy for once. That’s all Ghana need from HIGH GRADE FAMILY.
